About the founder

I’m Glyn, a former Royal Marines Commando, and in 2018, I rowed over 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, as part of a 4-man team, in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic challenge - a huge experience that stayed with me and changed my relationship with the sea!

For me, spearfishing is not just a hobby, it's a way of life. It's a chance to connect with nature and challenge myself physically and mentally. There's something incredibly satisfying about being able to hunt your own food, especially when it comes from the ocean.

Now I want to give others a taste of the same adventure that I’ve had during my journey into ocean rowing and spearfishing!

What is ocean rowing?

Ocean rowing is a new adventure sport that involves rowing across large bodies of water, such as oceans or seas, typically over many months.

It involves navigating through unpredictable and often treacherous conditions, and requires physical endurance, mental toughness, and specialised equipment. The aim of ocean rowing can vary, from setting a new record to raising awareness for a cause, and it has gained popularity in recent years as a remarkable new form of adventure and exploration.

You can read more about what it’s like to row across an ocean from our friends at the ‘Tales of Adventure’ !
